Welcome to Chatwin Books. We are a new publisher of print and digital books in a wide range of topics, run by a team with many decades of experience in all aspects of the book business.

At the heart of who we are, and what we do, is working with authors to support their craft, and their entire body of work, throughout the publication process. Using our experience and drive to help our authors create great books is the surest way our team can ensure a great experience for our readers.

In addition to the work we do for our own books, we do editorial, design, author branding, marketing, and other work on a contract basis for other publishers and authors. We also distribute books from other publishers, both print and digital.

Northwest Poetry Comrades Read: Lee Bassett & Cal Kinnear

Annie Brule

Lee Bassett and Cal Kinnear have been sharing thoughts on poetry and poetics, and giving one another notes on manuscripts over the last many years, as each has written his way into the literary landscape of the Pacific Northwest. On Thursday September 24th they share the podium at Arundel Books, and read from their most recent works.

Bassett will read from "Sudden Owl," his beautifully-designed thirteenth book, out this year through True Bug Press. Kinnear, current Poet Laureate of Vashon Island, will read from his volume of combined poetry, prose and translation, titled "The Great Wheel: Zero the Un-Naming," a joint publication of Taurolog (the author's own press) and Chatwin Books.

Sudden Owl, a book-length poem, is Lee Bassett's 13th book. The Great Wheel is Cal Kinnear's fourth book, and the third designed by Chatwin's Annie Brulé. Bassett and Kinnear have been corresponding with one another for over a decade.
