Welcome to Chatwin Books. We are a new publisher of print and digital books in a wide range of topics, run by a team with many decades of experience in all aspects of the book business.

At the heart of who we are, and what we do, is working with authors to support their craft, and their entire body of work, throughout the publication process. Using our experience and drive to help our authors create great books is the surest way our team can ensure a great experience for our readers.

In addition to the work we do for our own books, we do editorial, design, author branding, marketing, and other work on a contract basis for other publishers and authors. We also distribute books from other publishers, both print and digital.

"Fabric of the American Dream" art book - special edition hardcover

Hardcover, signed and numbered edition, limited to 50 copies and bound in a totally fun patterned fabric, screen-printed by the artist in her Seattle studio. Each copy signed and numbered by the artist. Featuring a special art print insert inside the back cover, signed by the artist.

Fabric of the American Dream, the first in the Chatwin Books Art Series, features gorgeous full-color reproductions of recent paintings by nationally-collected painter Jane Richlovsky, with essay by art critic Jim Demetre, vintage snapshots of the patterned milieu the artist grew up in, peeks into her source material and working process, and additional visuals and writings that illuminate the paintings and their subject matter. Richlovsky paints directly onto found textiles from the mid-20th century, allowing the patterns to peep through and drawing on mid-century modern sensibilities and the ironies and contradictions of advertising and the pre-packaged American Dream.
