Plant Teachings Cards

$12.00

Many Native Elders remind us that plants are teachers. When we awaken our senses and observe nature, plants can lead us in finding ways to be healthy and resilient. For example, alder demonstrates how to collaborate with other species to build a healthy forest community. Yarrow reminds us of the importance of boundaries, while willow shows us how to be flexible yet strong.

These cards are part of a toolkit developed through a partnership between GRuB, Northwest Indian Treatment Center, the Seattle Indian Health Board, and Kaasei Indigenous Foodways.

Each card features a common PNW or Alaska plant and a related social-emotional teaching, accompanied by personal reflection questions. Use these full-color, waterproof and washable cards (suitable for wilderness use) to learn, teach, and remember skills to practice during challenging times.

These cards can be used in tandem with the book, Plant Teachings for Growing Social Emotional Skills.

PNW Edition Includes: Set of 23 double-sided waterproof cards. Learn more about the accompanying Plant Teachings book here.

Alaska Edition Includes: Set of 25 double-sided waterproof cards. Learn more about the accompanying Plant Teachings book here.
