              Plant Teachings Coloring Book
Many Native Elders remind us that plants are among our very first teachers and allies—each carrying unique wisdom and valuable teachings that can help us learn, grow, and heal. As we spend time building relationships with plants, we come to understand the depth of their wisdom, and we connect to important teachings of who we are and how we can be happy, healthy, and resilient. We remember that we are interconnected with the plants, the lands, and each other.
The Plant Teachings coloring book showcases 24 Pacific Northwest plants and an important lesson taught by each one. By awakening our senses and observing nature, we can learn how to cultivate health and resilience. This coloring book is part of a multimedia toolkit that is especially useful for mental health workers, educators, and community members exploring behavioral health skills rooted in the land.
28 pages, illustrated (various artists), 8.5 x 11 inches, 2025. Written by the Plant Teachings development team, and published by Chatwin for the Native Plants & Foods Institute.
